During my first shavasana at the age of twenty, I rested on the floor as a lightness crept into my body, almost as if I was floating. Immediately, I was hooked.
Seeing live music, taking my dogs to the park, and doing every physical activity possible - ranging from boxing to golf - have always been passions of mine. But, with a bad back, it was continually becoming more challenging to do the activities I love. My bad back and spiritual curiosity led me to yoga.
Yoga has enabled me to flourish not only physically, but mentally as well. Most importantly, yoga taught me to breathe. My classes are filled with good energy and creative flows to the movement of the breath, with an emphasis on alignment. There is no better feeling than dropping your brain for a little while. The feeling of release, like a weight has been lifted from your shoulders, is a sensation I will never get sick of.
