Favorite Food:

Anything made fresh and with love (or at least with attention).

Favorite Pose:

Anything with my feet in the air.

Least Favorite Pose:

Slumped-in-front-of-a-computer-for-too-long posture. But on a yoga mat? Can’t think of one.

Favorite Books:

Too many. Can we just say that books are my favorite ‘things’?

Favorite Quote:

“The really important kind of freedom involves attention and awareness and discipline, and being able truly to care about other people and to sacrifice for them over and over in myriad petty, unsexy ways every day. That is real freedom . . . The alternative is unconsciousness, the default setting . . . the constant gnawing sense of having had, and lost, some infinite thing.” (David Foster Wallace)

What makes you happy?

Cuddling my boys to sleep.

What inspires you?

Each person who tries an awareness practice like yoga–even just once–and each person who comes back to it, over and over, despite all the messiness and tightness and feeling like there’s not enough time and why can’t I just do this posture and how is my mind so scattered . . . because what we are doing in these simple awareness practices is big. We don’t even see how far it reaches beyond (what we think of as) our individual selves.
