I don’t really have a single favorite but here is one of my favorites. “This universe is a motion picture of God’s thoughts on the screen of human consciousness.” – Paramhansa Yogananda
Autobiography of a Yogi by Paramhansa Yogananda
Who sees the real you?
Everyone, although at times the ego gets in the way and covers the Spirit within. Yoga is the process by which I remove these veils through surrender. In other words I don’t really remove anything; I just get out of the way… sometimes, other times who knows?
What makes you happy?
Simple things. A smile on a students face. A moment of silent awareness. Animals…especially my cat Vibhuti, who I rescued but who truly was more of a gift to me then I was to her. Seeing growth in anyone or anything. Inspiring growth and humility in others especially our youth. The list goes on and on.
What inspires you?
My Gurus, teachers, family, friends, students, and all beings that ignite a spark within me for love, true understanding, wisdom, and humility. Music that nourishes my soul! Books that ignite my spirit!
What does love look like to you?
Love has no limits and truly could never be described or look the same way to everyone. Love in my life has been those who forgave me for my wrongdoings and still kept their heart open to me. Love has been the most powerful force I have ever felt from my Gurus, the Avatars I have been graced to be in the presence of, and my friends and family that have stuck with me through the bumps in the road. Even those bumps were love in disguise to keep the spark of will ignited within me to live a life that would honor my Gurus, teachers, family, and friends. Love to me is not an emotion it’s literally the motion or the energy of gratitude expressed through action. Love is a continuous flow of devotion. Love has no bounds, no definitions, and is something I hope to fully grow into someday. Every moment is that someday. Now is the best time to express it!
