Yes! In fact, you are a perfect candidate for yoga. Many people think they need to be flexible to begin, but come as you are. As you continue to practice, you will become more flexible and stronger.
Absolutely! You don’t need to know anything about yoga before your first class. Just come in, set up your mat, listen, and concentrate as best you can. Our teachers will guide you into each pose and remind you to breathe throughout class.
If it would make you more comfortable, let your instructor know you’re new so they can help you as needed. You can also set up your mat in the middle of the room and take cues from people around you.
It is always appropriate to talk to the instructor about any existing physical conditions and concerns before class.
Yoga benefits many people with chronic pain by helping the body regain its balance between strength and flexibility, movement, and awareness. If you are under a doctor’s care for an acute situation, please discuss taking yoga classes with them first.

Arriving a few minutes early gives you time to check in at the desk, place your mat, and settle in before class starts. If it’s your first visit, aim for 15 minutes early so we can get you registered and show you around.
Please leave your shoes at the front of the studio when you arrive — shelves are available for your convenience.
We ask that phones stay out of the studio — we have cubbies at the front where your belongings can be safely stored. Please also silence Apple Watches before entering class.
If you need to leave early, please take a spot near the back of the room and exit as quietly as possible so as not to disturb other students.
Registering ahead of class isn’t required, but it reserves your spot in classes with limited space. At busy times, it will also speed up the check-in process at the desk once you arrive.
